Haddasah Lodge

Hadassah Lodge No 4871 is proud of its long history and its reputation for maintaining high standards of ceremony. Founded in 1927, by a desire of brethren of the Jewish Faith, resident in Sheffield, to be able to dine in accordance with their dietary rules, Hadassah while proud and respectful of its origins is now predominantly non-Jewish. Whilst always striving to maintain the values and standards of Freemasonry the Lodge has adapted to the changing world to ensure it remains vibrant and sustainable and so that all of its members, young and old enjoy the privileges of the Craft.

The Lodge benefits from a very diverse membership of men, currently our youngest member just embarking on his Masonic journey is in his twenties, but we benefit from older experienced members representing previous decades, our oldest active member is ninety-two. The Lodge has thirty-one subscribing members, many of them taking an active part in the Lodge. Some have been honoured with high office in both the Provincial and United Grand Lodge. Our members interests and backgrounds are varied but there is a strong characteristic running through Hadassah Lodge members of commitment to charitable activities and companionship
